As it is now half way through the club season the coffs club membership component has been reduced to $65 for adults and $30 for juniors . No excuses for those of you who have been members and have been a little slow this year to rejoin.
Another successful teams race event on a clear Sunday morning. The race was split in two divisions; division one was timed handicap race and division two was untimed participation event. About 34 teams competed in both divisions of the event. Club members had the opportunity to meet new people or rekindle old friendships during the race. Dave Leckenby did a great job in working out handicaps so the teams were evenly matched. This culminated in interesting results.
A great race on Sunday despite being wet and drizzly. We had some of our novice day competitiors return for another go. Dan Stein had a pretty slick time but our fabulous race director for the day Joe Kane was hot on his heels

Official first club race of the season done and dusted. Despite a large number of members journeying to the Sunshine Coast we still had a great turn out. 56 starters for the long course and 17 over the shorter distance. Richard Pearson was fastest on the day , followed closely by Isiah Koopmans.
A little disappointing was the number of people noticed drafting. Rule 3.9a states: "For all events with a cycling distance up to and including 40 kilometres, the bicycle draft zone is a rectangle 7 metres long and 3 metres wide that surrounds every bicycle competitor and every motorcycle on the bicycle course. The front edge of the front bicycle and motorcycle wheel defines the centre of the leading 3 metres edge of the rectangle Competitors have 15 seconds to pass through this zone. "
Not long now until the official start of the race season. But before we get too excited about triathlon we need to get excited about The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival next weekend. All Father's and anyone with a father need to be running instead of eating breakfast in bed
