WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 27 AUGUST 2015

Not long now until the official start of the race season. But before we get too excited about triathlon we need to get excited about The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival next weekend. All Father's and anyone with a father  need to be running instead of eating breakfast in bed

The president has a few comments from the recent committee meeting....
  • Can members please nominate a duty date and job asap using the DutyMan website. If people have forgotten login to Dutyman, they can email the Race Director, Michael McFarlane (mailto:mickmcfarlane@gmail.com). If you don’t nominate yourself a duty very soon, it will be chosen for you.
  • Reminder for people who are  competing in one-off races that they need to sign up online the day before for and pay a one-day membership - you will not be able to sign up and pay on the day.
  • Shark warning system - A committee member has  mentioned concerns of some members about sharks in our  Harbour. As a club we need to promote what we are doing to make our swim leg as safe as we can so people are not put off joining because of this. We need to continue to tell competitors before each race where the exit points are so people are aware of our procedure. It was proposed we have 2 horns to be sounded in the case of an emergency, instead of one - one person on the rock wall as usual and one on the Jetty (between the platform and the end). A drinks station person will do this Jetty duty before coming back to the drinks station in time for run leg. the Dutyman website will be updated to let people know the changes to these roles - We are always looking to make sure competitors as safe as possible
  • Photos and social networking - A committee member suggested it would be good to see more photos of fortnightly races appearing on our Social Media pages in order to promote our sport. If members are able to take photos of our competitors as they race and send them to Karen Dance to add to our Facebook page If any  members are opposed to having their photos displayed this way can they let Karen Dance know.
  •  Please remember the Amart sports community kickbacks program. you just need to mention the name of the club to the cashier

If you haven't a training session planned for this Sunday ,be ready to follow Leighton Rogan at 7.20 pm Coffs time at the 70.3 World Champs in Austria
