It gives us great pleasure and pride to announce that Craig Alexander will be our guest speaker for our Presentation and Gala Dinner to be held at the C.ex Club on Friday 16th May at 7pm. Craig is without doubt one of Australia’s most accomplished athletes. He is a three time World Ironman Champion and current race record holder at the brutal Kona course. Just as important, Craig is much admired for his humility and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. It is a huge honour to have someone of Craig’s stature attend our night and we hope as many members as possible will attend. Tickets are $50.00 per person and juniors $20.00, to secure your seat please EFT the amount with your name into our club BCU bank account BSB 704328 Account number 197693 (S11 if you are transferring from another BCU account). 12/3/2014 0 Comments Weekly Newsletter 10 March 2014LONG COURSE!!!
Our next club race will be the annual long course. This is intended to prepare our members for the upcoming Club Championships in Forster on 5th April. The format will be 1km/30km/7.5km. So that’s just an extra lap on each of the bike & run legs, plus a tad extra on the swim. The long range forecast at this stage is for a hot day on Sunday, so please be prepared, hydrate well and look at ways to keep your core temperature down. The tide will be on the high side, so plenty of water for the swim. As always, registrations will close at 6:20am and the race briefing will be shortly afterwards. We absolutely need to start on time to account for the extra time spent on the course due to the extra distance. The race will start at 6:30am. Please be ready to go by 6:20am. 4/3/2014 0 Comments Weekly Newsletter 3 March 2014BCU COFFS TRI RACE REPORT
By Michelle Clarke What a marvellous weekend was had by all at the bcu Coffs Tri. I went to bed on Saturday evening listening to the pouring rain and wondering what on earth Mick and Sinclair could have done to deserve such rotten luck! I awoke to a Facebook post declaring stars in the sky!! Was this a dream or wishful thinking? I was part of a team this year. I conquered the bike and run and my workmate the swim. |
