Bet there was some chafing in new and interesting places for all those who donned the retro tri garb for Sunday’s race. Fluoro, headbands and way to too many pairs of budgie smugglers were the order of the day. This theme could well become an annual event, so be prepared for next year and start your retro shopping. The weather gave us a lovely window of perfect conditions for the 115 racers who participated in the latest club race. Swim times on the long course may be a little skewed due to buoys with minds of their own and a fierce determination not to stay in place. But the cycle course was remarkably puddle-free and there was only one patch to avoid on the run leg. We are one very lucky Triathlon club. 12/11/2013 1 Comment Weekly Newsletter 11 November 2013STEP BACK IN TIME
Time to get your fluoro on, don your best sweatbands and dig out the Volleys. Our next race on Sunday 17 November is going retro!!! So boys, think Dave Scott & Mark Allen circa “Iron War” days, think budgie smugglers and race singlets, think inappropriate race shorts and Dunlop Volleys. Girls, the retro role models are not quite so easy to find but if you model yourselves on Jane Fonda in her workout heyday or Jamie Lee Curtis in “Perfect” you’ll be pretty close (high cut to the hips anyone??). Or you could try the unflattering run shorts and tank top look if you want more modest attire. 5/11/2013 0 Comments Weekly Newsletter 4 November 2013TRIPLE SPRINT
The weather just keeps on delivering for our club races, with yet another race down in near-perfect conditions. We certainly are spoilt triathletes here on the Coffs Coast. Sunday’s triple sprint brought 93 members to the Jetty Foreshore to race their choice of 1, 2 or 3 laps of the 300m swim/6km cycle/2km run. Lachlan Binet was fastest overall by almost 2mins, with Andrew Pitzen and Eddie Harrod coming in close together to take out 2nd & 3rd. |
