Special edition newsletter

After trialling the 100 minute handicap and listening to feedback from our club members regarding safety, the committee have decided to trial a wave start at the next Club race meeting. We will be trialling this system over the next few race meetings to compare with the 100 minute handicap and will be asking members to give any feedback the committee as to the safety of our members, particularly our young competitors out on the road. The new wave system will be as follows:
  • All members who are 18 and under (as per their Triathlon NSW registration), will start off scratch, regardless of whether they are doing a long or short course.
  • All other competitors doing the Long course on a handicap will start in the following waves:
          0, 5, 10, 15, 20 mins
  • All adults (older than 18) doing the short course will start off 22 minutes
All competitors should check their handicap on the board before our next club race begins. We will trial this wave handicap system for the remainder of the club races this season and then the committee will assess what will work best for next season.
