Race Two - Sunday 11 October 2020

Thanks to Al from Ventoux Cycles and Kim from Harbourside Markets for sponsoring todays race.

Perfect morning for the second tri of the season. Conditions were perfect for racing which saw some slick times recorded. Second place went to Patrick Brennan and third was Matt soon to be Drill Sergeant Moffat.

First lady to cross the line in the long course was Melanie Silvester, with a slick time of 1:09:02. Second place was the southerner Rachel Cleary with a time of 1:11:11 – she must have planned that!! Her fellow southerner and training partner Kate Marden was third.

Fiona Bryant, Jo Ferguson, Jen Booth and Margaret Roberts had their first hit out for the season – well done ladies!

Adam Cox, Peter Birch and Phil Benoit all had very consistent races.

In the short course young Angus Brazier was first across the line in a time of 40:16, followed by his old man Edward Brazier just one second behind. Third place went to Judith McNeill. Emma Kate Barners completed her first race with the club and it was good to see Lee and Rebecca Varney back racing. From all reports Cecil Tempone (Success) managed to stay on his feet for the run course this week – good job Cecil!!

A big thank you to all the volunteers this morning and all the competitors who followed the rules on the bike leg. Again if you need brush up on these you can find them on the website, and if you see someone doing the wrong thing please come and let me know after the race.

Just a reminder that you have to preregister for Race Three on Sunday 25 October, preregistration closes at 5pm on Friday 23 October and no, sorry we can’t make any exceptions.

Stay safe while training.
