Race Three - Sunday 27 October 2019
With thanks to our race day sponsors The Happy Frog and Faircloth Reynolds.
Great to see a lot of new faces today for the annual novice ‘Try a Tri’. To the 12 that ventured possibly beyond your comfort levels, well done to you, sometimes the hardest part is convincing yourself you are good enough - well you did so today. The first of many more.
Lachie Marle, Glenn George, and Jack Mclaughlin filled the top 3 positions in the short course.
Shannon O'Hara, Jan Rooney, and Hadley Black were the top three ladies in the long course.
Isaiah Koopmans, Michael Singleton, and Scott Charlton filled the top three positions for the men’s long course. Shaun Bayndrian cost his family a packet of Tim Tams being 1 second into 4th position.
Big thanks to Adam Cross and Mick Wendy Maley for their bbq duties this morning.
Thanks to our volunteers , in particular David Leckenby and Joshua Patricks for filling in.
A reminder, we need to fill all duty slots prior to Xmas. We have continued to remind members of their obligation to do a duty. From here on in , Craig may have to nominate you in order to fill said positions if you do not nominate yourself. If you are having trouble registering please contact Craig on firstname.lastname@example.org
Further to that, this season it has been noted that we seem to have some volunteers disappear after they have done their duty.
All volunteers are obligated to stay back and pack up. Not just pack away your nominated duty, but the whole lot. There are still items to be packed away after presentation and to be frank, you should be the last group to leave. We had members who raced, packing away. It’s not on, nor is it fair.
The club website has a range of club apparel for sale. We have also added running singlet , perfect for warm months ahead.
Men’s hoodies have arrived. Contact Emma to arrange pick up/payment .
Our next event is the always challenging triple sprint on 10 November - remember to nominate for duty if you can, we are a bit light on for this race.
