18/11/2019 0 Comments Race Five - Sunday 17 November 2019It’s almost selfish to say how fortunate we were with the conditions this morning after what we have experienced for the past few weeks.
Huge thanks to Andrew Nelson for giving us some life savings tips. We will be engaging with Andrew to again share with us his knowledge at a race after Xmas . The committee encourages our members to provide us with feedback from this morning, and on anything else you may think will assist the club in providing a happy and safe environment . ———-;————;————-- Mingle and Jingle Xmas party will be held at Moonee Beach Tavern on Sunday 15 December. We will have more detail for you this week, time, cost, Santa arrival, kids presents etc. It’s shaping up to be a ripper of an event, and, it’s on the afternoon of our last race for 2019. Kristy Ylinen is your contact —————;———-;———-- If you want to order anything uniform related, deadline is tomorrow. Merchandise will arrive in 6 weeks. ————;————-;————- Thanks to Viridian Glass and Rainbow Cycles for being the race day sponsor Ben Burridge introduced himself with a 1st up win, just in front of a very consistent Lachy Marle, Hudson Barry snuck in for 3rd. Great to see Paul Courtney string some races together. It was a mother and daughter affair with Fiona O'Meara “enticing” her daughter Phoebe along👋👋. Good to see Mick Darlow back on course. Good racing from Lee Varney, Holly Newton and Kath Robson. ———-(————(————(—-- What ever Michael Ylinen is eating, can we all have some😂, smashing out a PB today of 58:48. Making up that missing 1 second, and then some, Shaun Bayndrian made sure the 2nd place Tim tams were his, he had an enthralling battle with Matt Moffatt. Chris Hodge has overcome that nasty dislocation for a solid race. Mark Garner is looking cherry ripe for next weeks Hundy 100, Jack Mclaughlin continues his rapid improvement . Awesome effort from Benjamin Rose, in only his 3rd race to cross in 1:10:23, handicapper will be all over you now! Jason Limbert had a great race winning the 10min wave, Chris Rowthorne managed to work off some Hamilton Island buffet. Phil Benoit looked strong, Brad Henry was happy to be back racing. Andrew Fenwick and Paul Killey did well. —————)—————)———-- Melanie Silvester appreciated the longer variation, clicking 1:07, just in front of Shannon O'Hara with Jan Rooney running a 20:49 to claim 3rd . Alina Hill grabbed the honours as the fastest female in the 5min wave. Jen Booth looked the goods as she sets herself for the HB100. Margaret Roberts and Fiona Bryant-Smith had an epic battle, I suspect there may have been some social planning being discussed for next weeks HB100 on the run leg too. Nice to Pim Heaney back at club racing as well! Caron Mackie, Jennifer Williams and Katrina McFarlane all had a good day out. Big thanks to Cliffy for doing the briefing and all volunteers. ———;———-;————;——-- We will have quite a few members travelling to compete at Hervey Bay next weekend. Just up the road, we also have some members dropping into Kingscliff, which is the 1st race of the inter club series. Wishing you all safe travels and all the best at your chosen event ————:————-:————-: Our next race is the long course event . More details to come. It’s a closed transition , so be prepared . Train safe, PT
