Thanks to today's race day sponsors - Sundoctors and Stramit.
Happy New Year to all and sundry. With that small window of being able to really give the teeth and elbow a good workout now over, 48 fit and healthy people fronted up for our 1st event of 2019, clearly showing they were well behaved in that department. Lachy Marle continues his fine form notching up another victory in the enticer with a very slick 29:18 for the 2.5/300/2.5 distance. Great to see Alina Hill back in action. An injured back tempering her running was no obstacle as she claimed 2nd with a 32:15. Bonnie White claimed an impressive 3rd placing , looking strong on the run leg. Terrific to see Yukka Ylinen kick start the new year with a nice hitout. How good was Hanna Legge today, seen incorporating quite a few sprint efforts in her run leg. Hanna now claims the sexiest tri sports bag to carry all her gear to her events. Special thanks to Chloe Bulloch for again helping Hanna around on course. Pretty evident that Isaiah Koopmans layed off the grog as he absolutely smoked it today, his 2nd run leg quicker than the 1st, bear in mind, the 2nd leg also includes the transition. Jyii Mann and Bailey Offord laughed and chatted and skipped their way around to claim 2nd and 3rd respectively, just 4seconds apart. Shaun Bayndrian continues his red hot form, and Phil Viles shook off a dodgy leg injury for a solid hit out. Renowned trail runner Trev Fulton ventured up the Pacific Highway to have a crack at his 1St CHTC event, narrowly pipping his best 'mate' by a lousy 6 seconds, that's after smashing him as well the day before at Urunga Parkrun. 👏👏 Tom Handel was strong on the run, and Craig Busby busted himself to get a quicker 2nd run split. Well done to all the lads. Great to see Michelle Pearson back at club racing, a very controlled 1st run leg set her up to flash home in the second leg 20secs quicker. Mel Sylvester did just enough to hold off a very impressive Lois Oliver who keeps getting stronger with her running, she claimed 3rd. Jeanine Watson is looking more comfortable with the course becoming more familiar, while Katrina McFarland kicked off 2019 in fine fashion. Well done to all the ladies today. Big thanks to Delenn Bissett who helped her mum do a mighty fine job at the drinks station - come back anytime. Thanks to Sarvi for snapping today pics, these will be uploaded soon, after a very important brunch apparently.🤣🤣 As always, huge thanks to our volunteers today who did an awesome job setting up the course. RAFFLES - Our roster is looking good for the next few weeks for the raffles at the Moonee Beach Tavern. We could do with some help on the 27th January as we will need 3 to support Kath Gibney please. BCU Tri - an amazing event on our door step. Like all events, volunteers are required, they are the backbone to a well run event. We have an obligation as a club to support our sponsor Village Sports. All positions are now located on Dutyman. Please jump in and nominate your position. It's a small sacrifice for a massive reward. Well done to everyone that did the gruelling 30k pub to pub. Some outstanding times have been recorded by a few of our members that ran Glenreagh to Corindi. We also had a few members venture up to Yamba for the ocean swim event. The focus now for a lot of our members over the next 2 months will be HOTW, South West Rocks, Tweed Enduro and BCU. Whatever your aiming for, train safe and dig in and support your fellow clubbie. PT
