👋👌🙌🕺💅🍷🥂🍺🥇🥈🥉🏊🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️🏃♀️ A wonderful night was had celebrating the year and the achievements of club members. The night kicked off with the AGM. Welcome to Kristy Ylinen as social director, Ellie Luhr as secretary and Anne Grundy as treasurer. President Paul Herring highlighted that we had 200 members for the season. He thanked our 25 club sponsors for their support and contributions. Paul also thanked the outgoing individuals for their commitment as committee members. Shaun Lawer moves into the vice president role. Two positions remain to be filled, race director (easiest of the jobs) and volunteer co-ordinator get in touch with President Paul Herring if you would like to have a got at either of these roles. To all of our 25 sponsors, we again say thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our club. Thank you to Palate and Ply, Sun Doctors, Physability, and Moonee Beach Tavern for joining us this year. We hope we have met your expectations, and look forward to more rewarding years together. If you are not aware, our club was awarded the trophy as the No 1 club in this year’s North Coast Inter-club series. This is the first year of this competition, and we are exceptionally proud to have received this ward. Once the awards presentation kicked off it is fair to say it could have been the Jennifer Williams dedication and appreciation night! Jen was inducted as a life member of the club. Nominated by the Grundys, Mick & Wendy Maley, Phil and Tina Benoit. It was Anne who shared a beautiful speech highlighting Jen's amazing long list of achievements in the sport. Jen was also the recipient of the ‘Ironman’ award, presented by Michelle Clarke, who was the current holder of the award. Fastest female for the season was Shannon O'Hara, Shannon has had wonderful season . Fastest male was Isaiah Koopmans, capping off a very successful season. Club Champion award also went to Shannon O’Hara in a tightly contested leader board. 1st season member Garry Ward snuck in for 2nd. Garry travels up from Kempsey and would like to thank everyone for their continued support and encouragement. Alira Jade Bayndrian rounded out a very consistent and successful season claiming 3rd position and a Cliffy award! Huge congratulations goes to 1st year member Adam Cross for snaveling the most improved. It’s been a big season for Michael Ylinen, thrilled to see him take home junior of the year award. We look forward to following his progress in the years to come. Club Person of the Year was again awarded to Peter Timothy who always goes above and beyond what is required of him as Race Director and has done a fantastic job this year in also taking on sponsorship coordination and writing the fortnightly race reports. He will be greatly missed next year as he steps down from the committee for a very well earned break - enjoy those Saturday arvo beers PT. A special mention to Hanna Legge who had an outstanding first season with the club . She also did the bcu tri and participated in the SWR tri. Hanna has the most colourful bike in the club . Kudos to Leeann Lloyd for her constant support and encouragement towards Hannah and another new member in Corey Warn. Thank you to the fantastic special guest presenters Kelvin Spatter and Jen Williams, they certainly looked very show biz . I’m sure you would all agree, the night was a huge success due to the high attention to detail by or social queen, Sarvii Thompson. The room was picture perfect and the food was abundant and delicious. The committee hopes you enjoyed the season of events. Whatever you do in the off season, stay safe, fit and happy.
