Quality Accounting + Market St Stitches Race #4 - December 8, 2024

A great turn out for a steamy hit out this morning with 49 competing across all formats. With cold
temps in the cooling swim it refreshing before hitting the bike and run. Keep an eye out for socials for
some expected very cool swim photos from the talented Elize Strydom!

A big welcome to the new members Carragh Gordon, Elizabeth Matson, Sam van Gastel and Abbey
Richards and to first timers, and returning men following our men’s race, great to see you experience
our amazing course and event.

Our focus age group category this week was the 40-49’s. Fastest Sprint male was Sam Walcot in 1:12:43
followed by Morne Scheepers and Richard Bolt while in the females Mel Sylvester clocked 1:12:00
followed by Alina Hill and Rainee Herron.

Carragh took out overall fastest Sprint female and third overall with a time of 1:07:32 only a second
behind second fastest male Michael Brennan while Pat Brennan was fastest male in a time of 1:03:29.

Not far behind in second place female was Ann-Louise Scheepers in her final race at Coffs this season.
The Scheepers clan head to Adelaide – we all wish you all the very best with the move back and hope to
see you all around events in the future.

In the Super Sprint Chris Hamilton helped out Kai on the bike leg and set a solid run pace leg to be
quickest on course while our very capable Treasurer Maria Wood was fastest female.

Full results can be found on the website at http://www.coffstri.com/results.html.
For those using Strava, the race report can also be found there.

Our race today was made possible with the support of our sponsors Quality Accounting and Market
Street Stitches Woolgoolga. If you’re in need of some financial and accounting help or advice check out
Fiona and the team at Quality Accounting on 6658 1655 or www.qualityaccounting.com.au/.
While Jenny and Alice and the team at Market Street Stitches can help out on all things fabric….clothing, wet
suit repairs etc. And we also acknowledge the support of the Toormina, Moonee and Sawtell Hotels for
their ongoing support with gift vouchers and the Happy Frog for coffee vouchers.

Again a big thank you to Kathryn Gibney on registration and timing and Elize Strydom for capturing the
today’s event through the lens. To all our volunteers we thank you with special mentions to Willy
Award tick tock winner Michael Singleton!

Start thinking about your outfit for our annual Christmas Teams event on 15 December. Sponsor’s prize
on offer for best dressed! We will need to know in advance who is competing to make life easier for
Kathryn so look out for more information on that this week.

And straight after the Teams race it’s the Christmas lunch and party to be held at the Toormina Tavern
from 11:45am-2.30pm. Thanks to everyone who has bought tickets already - we are seeking to finalise
numbers asap to help out with catering and booking purposes and you could sign up through the web
site or through socials at $10 a ticket with kids U12 free.

And if you contemplating what to do in the back end of the season next year SAVE THE DATE now for
Club Champs on 17 May in Forster – subsidised accommodation at the Village, with various distances
and a team format available. Look out with more details to come!

Looking forward to seeing you at the next Club Teams Race #5 on 15 December with a 6.15am start and
at the Christmas party/lunch to follow to close out 2024.

Thanks,
Peter Birch
A/Race Director
